Government calls for 2018/19 Pre-Budget submissions

The Government has called for submissions for the 2018/19 Budget.

“The Government is inviting submissions from individuals, businesses and community groups on their views regarding priorities for the 2018-19 Budget,” said a statement by Assistant Minister to the Treasurer, Michael Sukkar.

“The 2018-19 Budget will continue the Government’s commitment to focus on budget repair to ensure the Commonwealth maintains its fiscal trajectory back to balance while also supporting fairness, opportunity and security for all Australians.”

“In order to allow views to feed into the budget process at an early stage, I ask interested parties to lodge submissions by Friday 15 December 2017.”

Further information on how to lodge 2018/19 Budget submissions is available on the Treasury website.

The call for 2018/19 submissions is considerably earlier than in recent years, though the consultation period is also much longer. The Government asked for 2017/18 Pre-Budget submissions on 9 December 2016 and the submissions period closed on 19 January 2017.
