The SMSF Association Technical Days will be one of the first opportunities for SMSF professionals to discuss the post 1 July superannuation landscape.
The Association says the events, to be held in mid to late July, will give members the opportunity to discuss the new measures and share with fellow professionals the practical consequences of the changes on their clients and businesses.
SMSF Association Head of Education Liz Ward said: “With the most significant changes to superannuation for a decade taking effect on 1 July, we want this year’s Technical Day to support delegates by providing time to reflect on, work through and resolve the key technical challenges they are experiencing day to day.”
The Association says these goals will be achieved through a change to a more “in-depth, hands-on program to better allow delegates to come to grips with the key technical issues most concerning them”.
The Technical Days have been structured based on issues that are “top of mind” with members, based on extensive member feedback and meetings, according to the Association. The key speakers at the Technical Days will be the Association’s Head of Policy, Jordan George, Head of Technical, Peter Hogan, Colonial First State Executive Manager Craig Day and representatives from the ATO.
The SMSF Association Technical Days will be held in:
- Sydney – 18 July
- Brisbane – 19 July
- Melbourne – 20 July
- Adelaide – 25 July
- Perth – 27 July
